The 2023 Wisconsin Supreme Court race was the most expensive judicial election in U.S. history, and the upcoming election for an open seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court carries significant implications for decisions on a host of critical issues. This panel event will explore why some states elect justices, how judicial campaigns differ from other state races, especially as it relates to campaign finance, and how Wisconsin’s judicial elections compare to those across the country.
